Epoxy Doming Resin

Epoxy doming resin is what gives labels, stickers, badges and nameplates that raised, glass-like dome - the kind of finish you see on car logos, product labels and branded plaques. It's a two-part system: resin and hardener, mixed in a fixed ratio, poured onto a flat surface, where it self-levels and cures into a clear, hard (or flexible) dome.

Not every doming job needs the same resin. A curved keychain and a flat metal nameplate don't cure the same way and a small production run has different time pressure than a factory doing hundreds of pieces a day. That's the real reason a proper doming resin range has more than one product in it.

What is Doming Resin?

Doming epoxy resin is a clear, self-leveling liquid that's poured onto a flat sticker, label or badge and left to cure into a raised, rounded dome. The self-leveling part matters - a properly formulated resin doesn't need to be spread or shaped, it finds its own even surface as it settles, which is what gives the finished piece that smooth, bubble-free look instead of a lumpy or uneven one.

Once cured, the dome does two jobs at once. It magnifies whatever's printed underneath - colours look richer, logos look sharper and it protects that printed layer from scratches, moisture and everyday wear. That's why doming shows up so often on automotive badges, appliance nameplates and product labels that need to survive years of handling.

Flexible or Hard: Which Doming Resin Do You Need?

This is really the first decision to make and it comes down to one question: does the surface underneath ever bend?

If yes - curved plastic, fabric-backed labels, anything wearable, go with flexible doming resin. A hard resin on a surface that flexes will eventually crack or lift at the edges, no matter how well it was mixed.

If the surface stays flat and rigid, metal nameplates, acrylic panels, most badges and emblems - a hard doming resin gives better scratch resistance and a harder, glass-like surface. From there it's a question of timeline: fast-cure if you're running volume and need pieces ready same-day, slow-cure if the project can wait an extra half-day in exchange for fewer bubbles and sharper clarity.

The extra time gives air bubbles longer to rise and escape before the resin sets, which is why this one's used where clarity and finish quality matter more than turnaround speed.

MBEPOXY® Hard Fast-Cure Doming Resin - Same 3:1 mix, 1-hour pot life and a 12-hour cure at room temperature. Cures noticeably faster than the other two, which matters when you're running a production line and can't afford to wait a full day between batches. Rigid finish, good gloss, built for speed.
