No, granite resin and marble epoxy should not be treated as automatically interchangeable; some products work on both stones, but many are formulated for a particular stone type, defect and processing method.

Granite and marble differ in hardness, porosity, mineral composition and processing behaviour. As a result, the epoxy system used for one stone may not provide the correct penetration, viscosity, colour effect or curing performance on the other. Granite-processing resin is commonly selected for penetrating pinholes, hairline fissures and cracks, reinforcing the slab and supporting a consistent polished finish. Marble epoxy may be designed for softer or more porous marble, larger surface defects, colour preservation, backside reinforcement or coating applications.

Before using any resin, the fabricator should consider the stone type, crack size, front- or backside application, desired colour effect, polishing process and required curing conditions. Actual curing performance can be affected by workshop temperature, stone temperature, humidity, mixing accuracy, resin thickness and the specific MBEPOXY® grade being used. Cold conditions may slow the reaction, while incorrect resin-to-hardener measurement or incomplete mixing can result in soft, sticky or unevenly cured areas. The stone must therefore be clean and completely dry, and the specified mixing ratio for the selected product must be followed carefully.

For reliable production planning, allow one complete day for curing and inspect a small edge or test area before beginning full grinding or polishing. Using the recommended MBEPOXY® granite resin and following its grade-specific instructions helps prevent premature polishing, resin pull-out, reopened pinholes, weak repairs and uneven finishing. For unusually cold workshops, thick repairs or specialised reinforcement work, additional curing time may be advisable before the slab proceeds to the next fabrication stage.

Yes, granite resin can be pigmented to match or closely blend with specific granite tones.

Pigmenting the resin is particularly useful when repairing visible cracks, fissures, pinholes, chipped areas or other surface defects where a completely transparent repair could remain noticeable. A Certificate of Analysis, or CoA, is different from the general technical booklet. The booklet provides standard product and application guidance, whereas a CoA relates to a specific manufacturing batch or lot. Where requested, the batch reference and available quality-control details can be linked to the shipment so that the customer can maintain records for inspection, internal quality control, laboratory review or project documentation.

Customers who require a CoA, batch number or specific test parameters should mention this requirement when confirming the order. However, buyers should place repeat orders in advance when continuous production depends on uninterrupted resin availability.

The stated processing period does not include the transporter’s or courier’s final delivery time. Transit duration depends on the destination, shipment volume, route, local holidays and logistics availability. Tracking or consignment details are shared after dispatch so the customer can follow the shipment and coordinate material receipt.
